Spent the entire afternoon immersing into the world of books @ Kinokuniya, Orchard. I like to read, especially self-improvement stuffies... I can always spent a whole day in the bookstore when i have nothing to do. But i am no bookworm alright, just like to gain more knowledge by reading more that's all!

Dinner was @ Crystal Jade, Causeway Point with my honey babe wifey. Ambience was cosy and the food were to my expectations too. A nice dinner on the whole!

(Jasmine Tea! Like the smell of it... Gives me a zen feeling as i sips...)

(Crispy cuttlefish with pepper and salt. Not very salty as the name implies... Can try it out.)

(Congee with century eggs & lean meat. Healthy and nice! Always have a liking for congee. This main dish is always my "must order!" when i patronise the restaurant.)

(this is not from Crystal Jade! This is organic health nuts. Bought for me by my babe... thanks honey... goin' nuts le!)

Tonight i will leave u guys with a quote for thoughts from Winston Churchill.. - "Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm"

Goodnight & Sweet Dreamz...

Today is tuesday aka "tooth"sday! (if u knew what i meant... laughs...)

Never like to see a dentist since i was a fourth grader (primary school). Can always recall that mean dentist trying to PULL out my tooth which is so painful and my whole school shirt was stained with bits of blood... (yeeks....). Since then i've developed a phobia for dentist visits. I can do anything ranging from donating blood to taking that free fall jump during my officer cadet (army) days. BUT i just can't take a visit to the dentist. "strange..." is how my parents use to describe me.

No choice now, i knew i have had to do something about my molars which created so much problems during these few weeks. My left cheek had a big swell due to molar infection 2 weeks ago and i had to take antibiotics to 'kill' the bacteria. It was then i decided that this is the last straw. Dentist visit is imminent.

I take great faith in 'moving' myself to the clinic and upon entering the room, i saw the CHAIR every dentist has! "God, bless me" , i told myself. "its gonna be a long day..."

Dentist checked my condition and told me that my 2 left molars cannot be salvaged. It have to be extracted. I nearly faint from that statement.... She helped me to do a general cleaning and some fillings before my extraction. Fillings was painful. I guessed its due to the way they attacked the nerves. I hold my own nerves too. Then came the extraction...

To my surprise, extraction was far less painful than the fills! Its probably due to the anaesthetic inject done before the extracts. You can only literally feel the dentist force, thats all! Thank god for that! My 2 left molar tooth were gone forever now and so do my phobia i guess... i do feel more at ease when i am making my next visit to my dentist next time round...

Take care of our teeth, otherwise someone's gonna take care of us!!! smiles, cheers and i am gonna recover...

Sunday was a day spent entirely with my in laws, helping them to prepare offerings for the hungry ghost festival, which is held during the lunar seventh month in Singapore. Alot of work has already been done before i came (sorry for that!). This includes folding of joss (incense) papers (3 big bags!), getting all the neccessary items ready like milk, cans of beer, other beverages, candies, snacks, roast duck, chicken etc... I help my in laws with the burning of incense papers. We also threw some of the uncooked rice that we have prayed earlier to the pigeons, feeding them. Buddhists believed that after eating the rice or other offerings, the animals that ate em' will enjoy a better reincarnation in their next lifetime.

The neighbour's son JingJie also came to spent the afternoon with us! He's a cute little boy; reminded me of how time flies! Few years ago, he was only 3 years when i saw him. Now, he's six. He was shy initially, but i managed to tap my childhood instinct to link up with him, slowly he began to open up and became more talkative! Lol! A kid is always so cute and innocent. Envy, wishing him well and healthy!

(Jingjie now 6 yrs old, lively little boy... may u enjoy your sweet childhood... -des)

The 29th Olympiad was officially closed on 24th Aug 2008 Sunday. 16 days of thrilling actions have left us all of a sudden, a sense of lost. Nevertheless, English Premier League season has already started and it should be a good substitute for the Olympics! laughs! Looking forward to London 2012! May it be a great success too like the latter!

1 more week before i offically report for work at SP Services Ltd. Looking forward to my job, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! But i will have to pay my biggest nightmare a vist tomorrow, THE DENTIST!!! Dentist visit has always strike fears in me since primary school days, but well i must face the music one day... Stupid molar! you will leave me a peace of mind from tomorrow onwards. I will go with a heart of a lion, bless me... (gulps...oops!)

23rd of August 2008, cool Sat morning with drizzle...

Slipping into my lazy slippers, Saturday started with a hearty breakfast at Macdonalds' with my wife @ Jurong Point. Its the first in 3 months or so that i have eaten anything from Mac, due to Project 65; i knew i have had to control my daily calorie intake along with the proper weights training and running as well. The queues were simply horrendous; seems like there were no more places for breakfast in Singapore!! Of course, being the good husband, i persevere and deliver the goods....

(big breakfast and sausage mcgriddles)
(P.S. : Its been awhile and i really have to say the hush browns never taste that good in my mouth!)

Bought a couple of t-shirts from sportslink too!

(couple t-shirts courtesy of Nike....)

(Team USA dry fit t-shirt courtesy of Nike. The front and back design of the t-shirt. Designed in collaboration with 2008 Bejing Olympics)

Conquering my biggest fear in my life, i pick up the phone and dial up my dentist for an appointment this coming Tuesday for extraction of my molar tooth. It has been giving me problems this couple of weeks and i have to say i've had enough! *prayz to overcome my fear*

Winston sms me for a lunch gathering coming Wed shortly after. Poor me, i have to decline and postpone it to Fri. Hopefully i will recover the strength to munch and looking forward to meeting my Uni mugging buddies!

Have done up the paperworks yesterday with SP Services Ltd. After goin' through the medical checkup routine, i am officially reporting for work on the 1st of September 2008! Finally after 2 months of job-hunting, the agony of being UMEMPLOYED is OVER!!! The prospect of having a NON-ENGINEERING job is tenderliciously mouth-watering!!! Looking forward to that. My planning of studying part-time for a degree in business administration or marketing is also on-going. That's always my biggest goal, and i really hope that i can get my degree before 30. (4 more years!)

Bought a Speedo SpeedSocket Mirror swimming perfomance goggles yesterday to replace my former TYR goggles as the latter is worn out and lens are super-foggy no matter how i wiped it. Abit expensive but i think its worth the price.

(Speedo SpeedSocket Mirror Performance Goggle)

Project 65 is ongoing very smoothly. Right now i stand at 70kg. Shed off 3.5kg within 1 and a half months. Attempting to put back all those muscles where it belongs; the day when i was an Infantry Officer. Just 5kg more to go for ideal. Jia you for me okay?! Vamos!

The serving of the day, i will leave you with a phrase straight out from Anthony Robbins....- "There is no such thing as failure. There are only results."

Keep yourself moltivated. As Nike always says "Just Do It" - Des

Went to Suntec City, Singapore during the weekend with my wife for the Jobs Central Job Fair Exhibition. To our dismay, there were little attractive companies that took part this time. Most of them being insurance companies, which we were not very interested in.

Had dinner at Thai Express @ Marina Square. My wife loves their thai seafood soup to bits, so it wasn't difficult to settle on a dinner destination.

Went for a second round of job interview today at SP Services Ltd (formerly known as Singapore Power)... hopefully it will all went well and land me the job that i am looking forward to... *prayz*

15th of August will be deeply remembered by singaporeans as the day we finally clinched an Olympic medal after 48 years of winless streaks. I am sure people like me who watched the table tennis match that's scheduled btw s'pore and south korea will be putting all thumbs up. Our table tennis team really put up a pulsating match that's truely a match to remember for time to come. The intensity of the match was so great that my emotions was fluctuating throughout the whole three and a half hours! its never easy dealing with a prospect of bringing home an Olympic medal for our nation and i can almost feel the pressure coming from our players! The last winning point of the match was a moment to savour and my salutes to the table tennis players of singapore...

This serving is indeed a memorable one, a serving that i am sure i am proud to bring it to you readers....

Korea is a charming country in Asia. Upon my first visit 5 years ago, i've took an admiration for this beautiful place on earth. Be it the fresh cool air that awaits your arrival or the clean environment that this society has, Korea has always something nice for envy. Together with the friendly and frank personalities of the Koreans, my wife and I took little hesitation that this country will be our ROM honeymoon destination in June this year; my third visit, my wife's first.

A tour guide's life is never easy. Apart from the fact that he/she have to stay away frequently from their family, the aspects of being eloqent and humourous is always the top demand and not to mention, the HR factor with the tourists and all the other ad-hoc coordinations with the relevant hotels and tourist spots during the duration of the stay.

Our tour guide is a top notched guide in his country according to our local guide Jasmine. He named himself Michael and his assistant Jackson! there you got it, Michael Jackson in combi. Armed with a humourous and direct personality, Michael has provided us plenty of laughter during our stinct and also shoned within, a warm-serving Korean.

I will be posting some of the photos that we've took over in Korea in the days to come, pls stay tuned! For this 2nd serving of dessert, i present to you....

My very first dessert...

its been sometime since i've blogged @ xanga and blogspot (few yrs back). Inherited this habit back after reading couple of my frens' blogs like zanne's and vincent's etc... kinda like their 'style' of venting their moods be it study or work into their little diaries... so i guess i am re-booting mine again !

Since its my first dessert, i'll take copyrights from zanne (thanks buddy!), letting you know what i am into of late...

1) I have tied the knots of bliss on the very first day of January this year! (i love you my precious wife!)
2) i am outta NTU for now, on my big big hunt for jobs (have had some interviews... hope it went well...)
3) Got a new handphone on my birthday! Sony Ericsson C702. Its a cybershot phone (can check it out on the website itself), hope to bring you all some nice photos now and then.

that's bout' it right now... will serve up more desserts to come!
